Finaly in LIMA, Peru!

The coast along LIMA
Originally uploaded by Tom Antos.
After crossing the border from Ecuador to Peru on foot (not to mention hundreds of Peruvians screaming GRINGO), and then a 20 hour ride in a bus (which was the coolest bus I´ve ever been on)... WE ARE FINALY IN LIMA!

This city is crazy... it´s big, busy, and the traffic is even crazier than Ecuador. Crossing a street in Lima is an adventure each time you attempt it. But one advantage over Ecuador... Peruvians at least use seat belts.

All of the new pictures are in my LIMA photo set.

Mayi is surfing!

Getting ready for the wave!

In case you don´t know Mayi, what you are witnessing here is a miracle. Normaly she is afraid of water... but in here she is not only going into the ocean all by herself, but she´s actually throwing herself into the big waves. I gotta tell ya that she ended up liking body surfing so much that she spend her second day in Montañita doing just that. Plus weçre now actually gonna go shopping for a surfboard so that the next time we go to the coast we don´t have to rent it out. I´m telling ya, Mayi is slowly turning into a SURFER-CHICK!

Street Art

On our second visit to Montañita we met up with Brasa. He´s one talented crafts artist, who´s curenlty traveling across South America. Overal I´d say that Ecuador is filled with gifted artists who usualy end up selling their work on the streets for peanuts.
